WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature which allows Group Admins to restrict or stop other members from posting or sending messages in the WhatsApp group. This is a very useful feature which gives the Admins the powers to keep the group clean and also useful for any business-oriented groups which want to keep the Group clean without other members constantly sending good morning and good night messages. The chat feature can be directly disabled from group settings.
The Group Admins get an option to turn of Chat settings completely for all other group members and by turning on “Only Admins“. By turning On this feature, other users cannot send or share text messages, images, voice messages, videos etc in the group.
Steps to Activate “Only Admins” feature to prevent other members from posting messages in WhatsApp group:
Step 1: Launch WhatsApp application and open the Group for which you want to activate “Only Admins” option for
Step 2: Tap on the “Three Dot” icon on the top right corner of the Display
Step 3: Now tap on “Group Info” option from the drop-down menu at the top right corner of the display
Step 4: Now go to Group settings option
Step 5: Here select “Only Admins” option and you will now be preventing other from posting messages, images etc in group
Once you have done this, group members will be notified with a message right above the message box about the changes. From now on the Chat box will be hidden from members.
