OnePlus comes with its much famed OxygenOS and as all latest Android smartphones comes with a feature to Duplicate or Clone Apps using a feature called Parallel Apps. This feature lets you create a second account of an already installed app to let you login from two accounts at the same time. This is particularly useful for Apps such as WhatsApp, Snapchat, Facebook, etc which lets you login using only one account from a device, so Clone app or Parallel apps helps you login through multiple accounts and be online simultaneously.
As we are looking at OnePlus smartphones running on OxygenOS, let us look at the steps taken to activate and use Dual Apps or Parallel Apps in any OnePlus smartphone.
Steps to Duplicate or Clone Apps on OnePlus:
Step 1: Go to Settings
Step 2: Now tap on Utilities
Step 3: Tap on the option – Parallel Apps
Step 4: Here you will be seeing the list of Apps which support Dual or Parallel Apps
Step 5: Tap on the slider button on the right to the App which you want to create a Dual or duplicate App for.
Step 6: The Cloned App will be seen in the App drawer with a small orange symbol at the base of it to help differentiate it from the original one
If you want to remove the Cloned App (make sure you back up the data) from your App drawer, you need to follow the same steps mentioned above and turn off the slider to the Dual App and this will remove the second app from your OnePlus smartphone.
Only certain apps support this feature and it may not be available on all the apps. One thing to know is that, if you delete the cloned app data only from the second app will be deleted but if you delete the Primary app data from both the apps will be deleted.
