Apple has launched a new product recently, the Apple AirTag which acts as a tracking device for your everyday things like keys, bag, wallet, dog/cat, etc. This device helps you track or locate any thing or accessory with the help of your iPhone when you have misplaced or lost it. Unlike your smartphone of SmartWatch, the AirTag does not come with a rechargeable battery but a replaceable CR2032.
Apple claims that the battery will need to be changed once a year, so you do not need to worry about recharging your AirTag. One doubt which I had was how do you know that the battery is low and you need to replace it, is there a way to check the Battery status of AirTag. There is a way in which you can check the battery status of AirTag on your iPhone.
How to check Apple AirTag Battery Status:
Note: Make sure your AirTag is connected to your iPhone
Step 1: Open Find My Application on your iPhone
Step 2: At the bottom of the screen tap on “Items” and the list of your Apple AirTags is seen
Step 3: Tap on the AirTag which you wish to check the Battery percentage of
Step 4: You can see the battery level or percentage of your AirTag here as shown in the image above.
If you find that the battery level of your AirTag is low you need to replace the battery, as Apple claims that the battery life will be 1 year, being Apple you can trust that it will be so and worry about the battery change after maybe an year. One feature which I would have liked in AirTag would be to share or sync with multiple devices which can help in cases like tracking your Pet, car keys, house keys etc. Hope apple brings this feature in the future updates.
