With the recent update of iOS 14, Apple has introduced a new feature which allows iPhone users to add Widgets on the Home screen. Earlier to iOS 14, Apple did not allow users to customize Home screen. At the time of writing this article, iOS 14 is available in Public Beta and the stable version is going to be rolled out shortly.
Let us check out the step-by-step process of How to add Widgets to Home screen in iPhone running on iOS 14. The widgets available now are Smart Sack, Batteries, calendar, maps, fitness, music, etc.
Steps to Add Home Screen widgets in iPhone:
On your iPhone Home screen, locate any blank space either between the apps or in any corner and Long Press until the applications start to wriggle.
You can now see a “+” symbol on the top left corner of your screen, tap on it to open the widgets section
You can see the list of Widgets available on your iPhone, tap on any one of them which you wish to put on your Homescreen
Once selected you will be able to choose the size of the widget. Then tap on “+Add Widget” at the bottom of the screen
The widget will be placed on your Home screen, you can change the position of the widget to your liking by moving it around.
Once you have found the correct location to your widget, tap on the “Done” button on the top right corner of the screen.
There are at this point of time limited number of Stock Widgets available which might be as the iPhone is on iOS 14 Public Beta version. Third party Widgets will be updated shortly in the coming months. Widgets feature has been available on Android devices from quite a long time and with the new update by Apple, the feature will be available for iPhone users as well making them Home screens a bit more aesthetically functional.
