Xiaomi has announced a new feature in their MIUI Global Beta ROM called Screen time which lets you check the amount of time spent viewing the display. Similarly Digital well being is something which lets you monitor your usage of phone, apps usage giving you an insight into where you are spending your time. You can also set alerts for weekdays and weekends to make sure you do not get addicted to your smartphone.
Once you Enable Digital Wellbeing it shows how much time you have spent on the screen in a day or last 7 days or last 30 days. It also shows the time spent on each app giving you an idea of which App you are wasting most of your time on.
How to Activate Digital Wellbeing app on your Xiaomi smartphones:
Note: This tutorial can be used on any smartphone running Android 9.0 Pie or above OS
Step 1: Download the latest version of Digital Wellbeing on your smartphone – Link (apk file). Install the apk file on your smartphone.
Step 2: You need to Install any Launcher on your device as the Stock Launcher on your device does not let you use the feature at the moment, we are using Nova launcher.
Step 3: Long tap on your Home Screen to open the “Widgets” section, now tap on “Activities”
Step 4: Scroll down in Activities to Digital Well being and tap on it, this widget will be added to your Home screen
Step 5: Now launch the app by tapping on the widget, now you need to allow Usage access to Digital Wellbeing which will be set to Not Allowed by default. Tap on Digital well being under usage access and tap on the toggle switch beside the Permit usage access option
Step 6: Now go back to the App and Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to find the “Show icon in the app list” tap on the toggle switch to turn it on.
Step 7: Now you can see the Digital Wellbeing App in your App drawer, which can be opened to access the Dashboard which gives the info like – Screen Time, Notifications received, Times opened etc.
