Xiaomi has launched another smartphone in the Indian market and the sale will be on September 2nd and the registrations for the Sale on 2nd Sep starts at 6pm IST today. Initially till yesterday Xiaomi was supposed to announce the device at a price of Rs. 6,999 but the company has decreased the price by Rs. 1,000 and announced in social networking sites Twitter and Facebook that the device will be available at Rs. 5,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi 1S specifications and features are: 4.7-inch IPS-LCD display having 720×1280 pixel resolution with AGC Dragontrail glass protection and a pixel density of roughly 312ppi. It is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC processor (MSM8228) and has 1GB of RAM along with Adreno 305 GPU. IT comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded to 32GB using a microSD card. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 skinned on top.
The company has promised an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat in the near future as the specifications support the version. It also has a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.6 MP front facing camera. The batteyr is a 2000mAh batter and the device supports Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, WiFi and Radio FM. It has a dimensions of 137x69x9.9 mm and weighs just 158 grams.
The sudden decrease in the pricing of the Redmi 1S announced by Xiaomi can be because of the sudden decrease in pricing by Asus recently, so what ever maybe the reason but this is a boon for users and a dead cheap pricing for the features at offer.
Along with the device the company also released some products for the device which will be available for order from Flipkart like screen protectors (matte and clear) priced at Rs. 179, a flip cover at Rs. 559, back cover in colours at Rs. 459, and a silica gel cover at Rs. 359.
