Xiaomi which has recently launched the 40-inch Mi TV 2 has now come out with a 55-inch Ultra HD display with 4K Resolution. The TV was announced on Xiaomi’s 5th anniversary with some other products like Redmi 2A and a Pink Edition Mi Note specifically for Ladies and a extension box along with a weighing scale.
Lets check the specs anf features of the TV which is similar to the design of the 40-inch Mi TV 2 launched earlier. The TV is powered by a Mstar 6A928 Quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz per core, it packs all four Cortex-A17 cores which is said to be a thermally efficient chip set. the Processor is supported by Mali-T760 GPU and 2GB triple-channel DDR3 RAM which will be able to handle the device performance efficiently.
The company promises that the device with the processor can handle H.264 decoding up to 4K resolution at 60fps. It also comes with 8GB of internal memory and a Wireless 8 speaker sound bar all new aluminium sub-woofer which will give very rich sound experience.
The other basic connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Dual band 2.5 GHz and 5GHz is supported along with HDMI 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports for further connectivity. From the design aspect the TV is made to perfection with a very thin Bezel given on the sides and top of the dispaly with a slightly thicker Bezel on the bottom of the display. this makes the device look very sleek and a bit delicate too. The 8-speaker Sound is a surprise addition with aluminium subwoofer having Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound making the TV viewing experience even more amazing.
Coming to the price Xiaomi’s 55-inch Ultra HD Mi TV 2 is RMB 4999 in China which is approximately $806 in US currency, this device is not yet officially launched for purchase and the official launch date of the TV is yet to be announced by Xiaomi. Xiaomi is surely taking the TV market also by storm by launching three new TV’s in 40-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch segments. If you are looking for a 55 inch TV then it is best to wait for this as the pricing and features are just amazing.
Xiaomi is currently selling the 49-inch Mi TV 2 for Rs 40,000 and the 40-inch variant costs Rs 20,000, the 55 inch device is being priced at Rs. 48,000 if the current launch price is to be converted.
