When will HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 get Android 7.0 Nougat update

Google has announced their latest Anroid 7.0 Nougat update earlier this year in May at their Google I/O event and one of the first manufacturers to announce the list of devices to be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat was HTC – HTC 10, One M9 and One A9 are the devices which were announced to be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat after its official stable release. With the Android 7.0 Nougat final update released to Nexus devices – List of Nexus devices getting the Android 7.0 Nougat final update, HTC has now announced the timeline for their devices to receive the update.

Sony has also announced that some of their devices will be getting the Nougat update which include the Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, XperiaZ5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia X, Xperia XA, Xperia XA Ultra and Xperia X Performance without revealing the timeline for the update.

Timeline for HTC devices to get Android 7.0 Nougat update:

  • Unlocked version of HTC 10 – 4th Quarter of 2016
  • Unlocked and Carrier versions of HTC One M9 and One A9 – 4th Quarter of 2016

HTC has promised that all three devices will be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update as an OTA in the Q4 of 2016. With this HTC will be joining the likes of LG which is going to launch their flagship V20 with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and with Sony also announcing the list of devices along with the Nexus and Android One devices.

We can expect the update to vary from one region to another and we will be updating the details about the OTA update here. The timeline of the launch might also vary depending on the carriers and countries as well. With the new Android N update you will be getting new features such as Multi-window support, Notification enhancements, Data Saver, Background optimizations, Direct boot, TV Recording, partial support for more than 100 new languages and locales, new emoji’s etc.
