Voice calling was introduced in other platforms a long time ago approximately a year ago in WhatsApp but was not introduced in Windows devices and there is good news for the users as the calling feature is available in its full version after coming in a private beta version.

So there it is now you can just install the latest update from windows Phone store on your device and enjoy the calling feature, you can scan this QR code given in the image below to install the App directly on your device Or you can install the application from the Windows phone store by clicking on the link here – WhatsApp version 2.12.60.

Whatsapp version 2.12.60 gets calling feature to windows phone

“The latest WhatsApp version 2.12.60 has the calling feature which was announced by the company as follows – WhatsApp Calling: Call your friends and family using WhatsApp for free, even if they’re in another country. WhatsApp calls use your phone’s Internet connection rather than your cellular plan’s voice minutes. Data charges may apply. Available on Windows Phone 8+.”

“You can now send audio files (available on Windows Phone 8.1+)”

You can now even send Audio files to other users which was not there in the older version of the app. You can record the audio files by clicking on the mike icon and holding it till the message is completed and then release it to send the audio file. Hope this update will be giving the long awaited features which all other OS devices using WhatsApp had.

This is a free app and the update is also free with which you can now easily call your friends for free even if your friends have an iPhone or Android. The messaging app mentions in the app details that the app is Free for the first year and then it mentions “WhatsApp may charge thereafter, current price is $0.99 USD/year” which I do not think anyone has even been charged till date as the free version keeps extending.
