There was the flagship Motorola Droid Turbo which was released by Verizon which has always been a bit behind in receiving any Software updates on a regular basis. With even the basic low budget smartphones from Motorola itself getting the Lollipop update it is high time that Droid turbo starts running on Android Lollipop 5.0. As it is still running on Android Lollipop4.4 Kitkat the users are furious about being stuck in the older version of Android OS when a latest version is available to many.
And yesterday Verizon has announced something which brings good news to Droid Turbo users, users of Droid Turbo on Verizon wireless network now have a stimulator of Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Motorola Droid Turbo which is on its official website making it easier for users to get an idea about the OS on their device ahead of the update.
With this stimulator the update is surely down the line but do not get exited as it is not so early either according to David Schuster, Senior Director of the Software Product Management at Motorola said that “Update is still in test lab cycle” as said last week. He also mentioned that as the update is long due and delayed the device will be directly updated from Android 4.4 Kitkat to Android Lollipop 5.1 which means there will be no Lollipop 5.0 update. With this update the Droid Turbo will be getting some updates in the Recent Apps page, new Material Design UI, battery saver mode that deploys Project Volta, improved lock screen notifications, enhanced security features, a two-finger Quick Settings menu, and more. There is no news about fixing the False battery charge update in the device.
This update by Verizon of providing a stimulator to have a feel of the OS which is being updated is good news to users making it sure that the update is round the corner. But at the same time, with so many devices running on Android Lollipop users might already know what they are going to get and instead of working on a stimulator it would be better to bring out the update faster. As the flagship OS lagging behind a lot compared to make Low budget phones in the market.
