Sony SmartWatch 3 and Smartband Talk launched

Sony has launched two new devices in the Wearables section with the next version of the Smartwatch named as the Sony Smartwatch 3 and one in the Smartband section naming it as the Smartband talk. Both the devices are capable of connecting to your device and making and accepting calls.

Let us first look at the features of the Smart watch 3 which runs on Android Wear Operating System which can be connected to devices running on Android 4.3 and above, this makes it compatible with most of the Android devices in the market. It comes with a 1.6 inches Display which is termed as Transflective which is a liquid crystal display (LCD) that reflects and transmits light which has a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. The Smartwatch 3 from Sony comes with IP68 certification and is available in two colors Black and Yellow.

The device is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad ARM A7 processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The device weighs 45 gramsand the design aspect of the device is beautiful as well. It also comes with features like accelerometer, compass, GPS, GYRO and light sensors. For connectivity there is NFC, Micro USB and Bluetooth 4.0. The Smartwatch also acts to monitor physical activities which can supplement a fitness band and is supported by a built in microphone and speaker. Coming to the battery life the device runs on a 420 mAh battery which gives up to 2 days of usage on a single charge.

The Sony Smartwatch 3 is priced at Rs. 19,990 which is a bit on the higher side but the other device from Samsung are priced similarly which make it a competitor to those device.

Coming to the Smartband Talk which is also released at the same time measures 9.5mm in thickness and measures 24 grams. It comes with a 1.4 inch E-Ink Black & White display with a resolution of 296 x 128 pixels. The device is also waterproof certified like the Smartwatch 3 with IP68 certification. Unlike the Smartwatch 3 this band only works with Android 4.4 and later OS running smartphones which will work by installing SmartBand Talk and Lifelog applications in your smartphone.

The device has 2 sensors – Accelerometer and Altimeter to help in gathering the Fitness data. It comes in two colors of Black and white. It has micro USB port and Bluetooth 3.0 for connectivity. The device is powered by a 70 mAh battery which gives up to 3 days of backup.
