Samsung has announced its latest device the Galaxy Note 4 after months of Speculations, anticipation rumours and much more the device is finally here at the Unpacked Event at IFA 2014 held at Berlin. And the Unpacked event saw launch of another Note device called the Note Edge which is the world’s first device with a Curved display.
Coming back to Note 4 the device sports a 5.7 inch Quad HD Display which is similar in size to its predecessor and the Note 4 sports a screen Resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the device is a big improvement in resolutions an ppi density when compared to Note 3 so it means it will be more crisper than before at the same size. Note 4 is having a metal frame around the display and it has stuck to the fake leather back which it used in Note 3, this makes the Note 4 to be the first device to not have the plastic feel which had become a trade mark of Samsung.
The device comes with Snapdragon 805 Processor which has two models one for USA and the other one for the Rest of the World – Quad Core 2.7 GHz processor for USA and an Octa-Core 1.9GHz processor for rest of the world. It sports a 16MP camera which has Smart Optical Image Stabilizer and LED Flash, the front camera is a 3.7MP which shoots at f/1.9 camera which is a bit of a let down as compared to many devices which are coming out with 5MP front camera. The front camera is a wide angle lens which Samsung has displayed with a Wide selfie of a 120 degree panoramic image clicked with the Front camera.
The features of Galaxy S5 are here in Note 4 like the Finger Print Scanner which Samsung says is an improved version of the one present in S5. The device also has a UV sensor on the back of the device which will be helpful in adjusting the Brightness of the display promptly without any delay and also to improve the connectivity with Wearables. The heart rate sensor is also present. The battery dosent have much of an improvement with a 3220 mAh battery and it also comes with a Adaptive Fast Charging and Ultra Power Saving Mode
It runs on Android Kitkat 4.4 OS and there were no traces of Android L in the launch so maybe till it is launched it will be coming out with Android L. The device has the Samsung mark with the S Health, Touchwiz, Download Booster which we saw in Galaxy S5.
So looking at the features and the lack of much change in the device shape and size Samsung is playing safe and with a better display and better processor Note 4 is surely going to be the top in the phablet category which will be seeing a new competitor from Apple to be launched in some days.
