Samsung has launched the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with great design and has also included some interesting features, no device is perfect and so are the S8 and S8+. Samsung has included an Artificial Intelligence system which interacts with the user similar to the Google Assistant or Google Siri. To take it a step further as compared to the competition, Samsung has managed to include a dedicated button on the side of the device for activating Bixby whenever you wish to.
Bixby can be quickly accessed by pressing the dedicated key placed right below the volume rocker on the S8 and S8+. As compared to the other two, Bixby is a new entrant into the market and is not as refined. It offers a range of features to interact with your phone such as Bixby Voice, Bixby Vision, Bixby Home and Bixby Reminder. If you are someone like me who does not like to use Bixby but want to remap or use the Bixby button to launch other applications like Google Now or the camera or any Application in particular there is an application which can help you in doing the same. Samsung has not given an option to remap the button with other functions so we need this application “bxActions” to do it.
- Download the bxActions App from Play store – App link
- Launch the application and remap the button easily
Now you can Remap the Bixby button to launch Google Now, enable silent mode, turn on or off flashlight, launch camera or take photos using this button, and even toggle music playback. There are multiple options to choose from which is quite useful if you are not much into using Bixby. There is an option to completely disable the Bixby button in the application if you feel like it. Do let us know if you find any better application to do the same in a better way in the comments section.
