Oppo R5 launched with the tag of Worlds Thinnest Phone at $499

Oppo has revealed the worlds thinnest smartphone with a thickness of 4.85 mm by launching the Oppo R5 which has come shortly after Guiness Book of world records has awarded the Gionee Elife S5.1 as the Worlds thinnest smartphone which was 5.1 mm thick. So we must say that Oppo has kept the thickness as the major factor to compete with and has succeeded in  making the worlds thinnest smartphone.

Along with the launch of Oppo R5 there was another device announced which is the flagship Oppo device named the Oppo N3 which comes with some amazing specifications and features. to compete with other flagship devices in the market.oppo r5 worlds slimmest smartphone specifications

Coming back to the specifications of the Oppo R5 smartphone which comes with a 5.2″ Full HD AMOLED display which has 423 ppi and the main feature of the device being the 4.85 mm thickness of the device.  Other features of Oppo R5 are it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor which is 64 Bit and it runs on 2GB of RAM. It has 13MP rear camera which protrudes out of the body and a 5MP front facing camera. One important thing which came to our notice is that there is no 3.5mm audio jack outlet on the device which we are thinking has been removed to keep the device slim.

The device runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.4  out of the box along with the Color OS 2.0 over it, and Oppo has made sure that this device looks sleek by making the body Stainless steel and the device sports a micro arc frame which is hand polished. The paint work on the Oppo R5 comes with a mix of 20 materials as claimed by Oppo and it has a new feature which is the use of liquid metal like material which helps in cooling down the device which might heat up because of the stainless steel body. The device is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery which is decent enough but not top of the line and it supports VOCC rapid charging technology.

The pricing of Oppo R5 is $499 and the device will be available in US from December which is the Holiday season and Oppo are planning to cash in on the Christmas season.
