OnePlus which has seen great success with its flagship killer smartphone at an affordable price the OnePlus One is now coming out with yet another device with similar top of the line features the OnePlus Two which according to co-founder Carl Pei would be available in the market from 3rd Quarter of 2015.
There have been many ups and downs in the Cyanogen Mod and OnePlus partnership which was broken by the Micromax exclusive deal which led to the company being banned in India by a High Court and then reviving with a lift on the ban which the company later releasing their own Oxygen OS.
Coming to the features and specifications which were revealed by Carl Pei on weibo about the processor and the pricing of the device which are the two main factors of the device. According to Carl Pei the device will be coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and this is going to be the top of the line device coming with this processor, but recently in some updates we read about some over-heating and throttling issues with the processor so whether the processor will be used or not in this device is uncertain inspite of being told by the co-founder himself.
Coming to the pricing of OnePlus Two it was revealed by OnePlus founder Pete Lau who when asked by one of his followers about the price of the device saying “If OnePlus Two comes with Snapdragon 810 Processor, what do you think will be the price?”, to which Pete Lau replied “2499 Yuan seems to be a reasonable price”. This comes to be around the $400 in Global market in retail and around Rs. 24,000 in the Indian market.
The Specifications of OnePlus Two according to the leads given by the founder and co-founder and also the rumours doing rounds are:
- 5.5 inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) or Quad QHD (1440 x 2560) display
- Snapdragon 810 processor or any other
- 4GB RAM
- 20 MP Primary or rear camera
- 5MP front facing camera
- 4000 mAh battery
The OnePlus Two device is going to be another flagship killer but one thing which the company should be worried about is that the first device was received so well because of the Cyanogen Mod support to the device but with the OnePlus Two it will not be the case because the device will be running on Android Lollipop based Oxygen OS which the company says will get superior features compared to the Stock android version.
