Moto Z and Moto Z Force announced with Moto Mods accessories

A new trend is setting in into the smartphone industry, the modular phones concept which is taken forward by the LG G5 and the missing 3.5mm jack which is put forth by the recently launched LeEco Le 2 and Le Max 2. Lenovo-owned Motorola has made sure that they include both the trends in their latest Flagships smartphones, the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force come with a modular design and the lack of 3.5mm jack with headphones supporting USB Type-C is available.

Both the devices sport a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and 535ppi. Both devices are similar in the Processor and storage front as well with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with Adreno 530 GPU and comes with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB / 64GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 2TB with microSD.

The difference in specifications is seen in terms of the better camera and the bigger battery in the Moto Z Force which also increases the thickness of the device compared to the Moto Z which is just 5.1mm whereas the Moto Z Plus is a bulky 6.9mm. The Moto Z Force comes with a 21MP rear camera in comparison to the 12MP rear camera in the Moto Z. The battery in the Moto Z force is 3500mAh compared to the 2600mAh battery in the Moto Z.

The Moto Z Force comes with Shattershield technology which was seen in its predecessor to give the display more protection and make it scratch resistant. Apart from this, both devices come with stainless steel and aluminum body to give the device more premium look and feel.

The Moto Z Force is a US only device whereas the Moto Z will be available internationally in September. The unlocked version of the Moto Z is said to be available in fall along with Moto Mods which are being launched.
