Xiaomi has recently unveiled their latest MIUI 8 at an event held in Beijing earlier last month. MIUI is the custom ROM from Xiaomi. MIUI 8 is the latest update of the ROM and is now available for lot of devices in Beta. MIUI 8 comes with a lot of new features and improvements over MIUI 7 which was launched last year. The official final stable version has been getting postponed and it is confirmed now to be released on August 23rd.
MIUI 8 comes with many changes in colors making it look much younger. There has been changes to the overall look which includes fonts and colors. Here is everything about MIUI 8 including the availability and the compatible devices.
The First feature is MIUI 8 comes with a new font which is so pleasing to the eye. Xiaomi assures that with the new font you would be comfortable even after using the phone continuously for 6 hours.
The next major improvement is the Gallery app. MIUI 8 supports video editing in terms of cropping, adding filters, adding captions and music. We can add the filters and some effects directly from the albums. We can also find an option that can add drawings, graffiti with new brushes making the gallery experience better.
MIUI 8 also supports long screen captures. Instead of capturing what is available on the screen,long captures scrolls the entire page and captures the images. This long screen captures are useful if we want to share the screenshots of websites. The scanner app on MIUI 8 can even scan maths equations and solve some problems instantly by providing the solutions in step by step process. The calculator app supports some advanced conversions like currency and temperature etc.
The MIUI 8 has redesigned the Notes app with new templates added for the notes. The better way for navigation is grid view. We can enable the password and fingerprint to secure our private notes.
MIUI 8 introduces the Suspend button. This Suspend button is a small transparent icon on the screen which provides additional controls.
Power management is the other important change to MIUI 8. If we enable power saving mode, the background activity is stopped and it suspends sync, updates and all the background tasks.
