Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL announced with Snapdragon 808 and 810 SoC

Microsoft has announced in their BUILD 2015 developers conference their latest Windows 10 for smartphones and According to websites like Windows Central there have been inside information about two devices Lumia 950 and 950 XL running on Windows 10 OS out of the box having some good high end specifications.

The devices are said to have QHD AMOLED displays which is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm processors 808 and 815 respectively along with having polycarbonate uni body with aluminum buttons on the sides. Both the devices are said to have 3GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space which can be further expanded using microSD card. With Microsoft always going for good camera features has also used the 20MP PureView rear camera and a 5MP front camera.

  • Camera: 20MP PureView primary camera, dual/triple LED flash, 4K video recording, and 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera
  • Connectivity: 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, A-GPS, USB Type-C, and Headphone Jack
  • Battery: 3,300 mAh removable battery with integrated Qi wireless charging

Both the devices are said to be coming up an Iris scanner (infrared) for Windows Hello-based device/screen unlocking mechanism. The Lumia 950 is going to be powered with Snapdragon Qualcomm 805 SoC and the Lumia 950 XL with a Snapdragon Qualcomm 810 SoC with similar 3GB of RAM. Both the devices come with 20MP PureView primary camera with dual/triple LED Flash and 4K video recording capability.

Microsoft is setting it up perfectly by releasing these devices with some neat high end specifications to take on the already present as well as the upcoming competition and it Is going to get a lot competitive in the flagship segment with competition from Apple which will be launching Apple iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, and Samsung with its Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Other companies are also pitching in this segment with the LG G Pro and the Nexus 6 which will be coming soon by Huawei along with the new Moto X.

This segment is going to get a lot of devices and if you are someone looking for a high end smartphone then it is better to wait it out for some time as the devices flooding into the market in coming days is going to make you spoil for choice.
