List of Huawei smartphones to get Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.0 update from Q1 2017

Huawei has been busy this year with a host of smartphone launches and the most recent smartphones to hit the market from the company are Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro which come with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Emotion UI 5.0 out of the box.The company has also launched the Huawei Mate 8 series devices. The company’s flagship smartphone series the P9 and P9 lite are also in the list of devices to receive the update early next year.

With the new EMUI 5.0 update with Android 7.0 gives many features which help in optimizing and accessing features like more cleaner and blue tinted design to be pleasing to the eye, addition of one handed use, improved battery saving options and some enhanced security features like App Lock for locking specific Apps.

  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Huawei Mate 8
  • Nova Huawei
  • Huawei Nova Plus

Commenting on the EMUI 5.0 update, Huawei said:

The new EMUI 5.0 along with Android 7.0 offers ease of use, improved efficiency and safety. With EMUI 5.0 user can activate 90% of the main functions in just two or three clicks. Moreover, thanks to “Machine Learning”, EMUI 5.0 is can dynamically optimize the most frequently used resources. It is also possible to manage the consumption of your device’s battery with greater ease and efficiency via the new intelligent system power management. Finally, EMUI 5.0 comes with enhanced security features, such as App Lock, which allows the user to ensure the highest safety levels for specific applications.

The company has not mentioned about the update to their mid range smartphones and other devices like the Mate S, G7 or tablet devices like MediaPad 3. It is expected that Huawei will be updating to the list of smartphones to get the update in the future and most like will be receiving the update in the second or third quarter of 2017.
