List of Devices to receive MIUI 11 update – Global roll out on October 22 confirmed by Xiaomi

Xiaomi is all set to introduce their latest OS update – MIUI 11 Globally, it was introduced in China last month and at the launch of Redmi Note 8 series smartphones the official Global roll out date has been confirmed as October 22nd. The company has also revealed all the new features along with the list of devices which will be receiving the update. The Global Roll out will be in 4 Phases with some devices included in each phase as revealed by the company.

Xiaomi has introduced many new changes in MIUI 11 with a major haul of the UI giving it more minimalist design which has been the go to change in all UI’s including Android. The settings page includes new colorful icons and a new font – Milan Pro has been included. There is a new lock animation as well which is quite good.

Mi Share: We hear about this Air Drop like feature, which lets you transfer files super fast. Files like Photos, documents, Videos etc can be transferred across devices from companies like Vivo, Oppo, Realme and Xiaomi devices using a single tap. It is said to give transfer speeds of up to 20MB/s.

Xiaomi has announced that the MIUI 11 update will be scheduled in Phases and have given a Rollout Time Table to list the devices to get the updates on the respective dates.

With the number of devices by Xiaomi out in the market it surely makes sense to release updates in phases to make sure that the updates are bug free and it gives developers to fix any major bugs arising in each devices at a time.

The other interesting updates of MIUI 11 are Quick Replies which allows users to reply to the home screen without needing to open the application, this feature was seen in Android 9 Pie update.

Mi Work: It is a File manager app on steroids which lets you see files as thumbnails based on the file type. You can view documents directly on Mi Work without opening the document on any other application.
