List of Apple devices Supporting or Compatible with iOS 10

Apple has launched their latest OS update for their iPhone and iPad devices, the iOS 10 at the WWDC 2016 event in San Francisco. Apple has made some major changes in their latest OS and are calling it the biggest iOS release ever for users and it surely is with the features being announced.

So if you are an Apple iPhone or iPad user, new or old variants you might be getting this thought in mind “Does my iPhone or iPad support iOS10?”. So to clear your doubts we are listing out the devices, which will be supported by iOS 10.

List of Apple Devices compatible with iOS 10

List of Apple devices supporting / Compatible with iOS 10:

  • iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, and SE
  • iPad 4, iPad Air, and iPad Air 2.
  • Both iPad Pros.
  • iPad Mini 2 and newer.
  • Sixth-generation iPod Touch.

So if your device is listed in the above mentioned list, you are lucky and your device will be getting the latest OS update from Apple. And this means that Apple has stopped support to some of their older devices. So if your device is listed in the devices mentioned below you will not be able to upgrade your device to iOS 10.

  • iPhone 4S
  • iPad 2
  • Original iPad Mini
  • 3rd-generation iPad
  • Fifth-generation iPod Touch

Apple has added loads of new features to the iOS 10 like Rise to Wake, this as the name suggests turns the display on when the phone is lifted which does not require pressing the Home button. The Lock screen now shows updates and notifications. With the help of 3D touch you can respond to the notifications then and there.

Widgets for Apps, this is another feature to let you use an App without launching it and will be useful for messaging apps, mail, news etc to see the updates without actually opening the App. Siri, there are many minor changes to Siri but the major change is Apple opening up Siri to developers and this allows Siri to interact with supported Apps. List of Supported Apps by Siri in iOS 10 – Slack, WeChat, and WhatsApp for communication, as well as Uber, Didi in China, Runtastic, Runkeeper, MapMyRun, and Skype for VoIP calls along with other similar apps.

Apple Maps has received a major overhaul in terms of UI etc and now includes many features which we have seen in Google Maps. Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Home, iMessages App have got their bit of upgrades making the iOS 10 one of Apples biggest OS updates in recent times.
