LG G5 starts to get official Android 7.0 Nougat update

LG has started rolling out the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to the LG G5 smartphone users in South Korea and the company will be rolling out the update slowly in the near future. LG was the first company to launch a device running Android 7.0 Nougat with the LG V20 and it now becomes the first company to launch a smartphone launched with Marshmallow to get the Android 7.0 nougat update. With the South Korea handsets receiving the update and LG mentioning about Asian, American and other countries to get the update shortly we can expect all the devices to be up and running on Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of this year.

It is important to note that LG was the first manufacturer to launch a device running on Android 7.0 Nougat even before the Google Pixel and Pixel XL which were launched recently. The company has started its preview program for G5 users in Korea on LG U+ network to offer an early beta of Android 7.0 Nougat in August which was to test out the problems faced and with the official release we are expecting that all the errors were fixed. The company mentions that it has fixed many bugs base don customers feedback from the preview program.

Commenting on the launch, LG, said, “Android 7.0 Nougat offers a range of new features designed to enhance the user experience and deliver more speed and convenience to G5 owners”. With the Android 7.0 Nougat LG G5 will be getting the new In Apps feature which was seen in LG V20 launched last month which lets the user search built-in apps and even inside the user-installed apps. The New Multi-window allows users to switch between apps with a double tap or run two apps side by side.

LG G5 is the company’s first modular themed smartphone along with being their flagship device. It comes with some impressive specifications like, a 5.3-inch Quad HD display covered with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It comes with a dual rear camera set up (16MP+8MP) and an 8MP front facing camera. It is powered by a 2800mAh battery which is removable and it accommodates the Modules. So with the latest starting to roll out to devices in a particular region, we can expect all LG G5 devices to start receiving the update in the coming few weeks.
