LeEco is working on a new smart phone to be launched as a successor to the recently launched mid range smartphone , the Le 2 . The company seems to be working on a high end successor or a variant of the Le 2 calling it the Le 2S which appears to follow the same design outline but with some minor changes like the 2.5D curved glass which appears to be going around the borders of the device. From the images which have surfaced on the Chinese social networking site Weibo, we can see the design of the device having some major similarities to the Le 2.
From the two photos which were shared, we can see that the Le 2S shares similar design outline as the Le 2 and the LE Max 2 with the positioning of the front facing camera the proximity sensors and the ambient light sensors along with earpiece in between. One thing which stands out is the slightly curved or rounded edges on the sides which is not the came in the Le 2 and the Le Max 2, we are expecting it to come with 2.5D glass on top of the display.
From the Weibo account we could gather other information about the expected specifications of the device as well. It is expected to come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and is said to come with massive 8GB of RAM which is crazy considering that 6GB RAM smartphones have just recently entered the market and there appears no need for massive 8 gigs of RAM in smartphones, but it will surely look good on paper.
The other features include 64GB of internal storage along with and the Rear camera is expected to be similar to the Le Max 2 with 21MP rear camera. We are seeing the likes of Huawei P9 sporting a dual camera set up on the back and the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus also to come with a Dual rear camera set up. But LeEco does not seem to follow the rest and are expected to use a Single lens camera.
