How to Solve / Fix “Error Code 941″ in Google Play Store App Update
In Google Play store many people are facing a problem showing an Error 941 which is appearing while Updating Apps in their Android devices. This error is seen in all the Andorid Operating Systems from Ice cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo etc.
This error is being seen after the Google Marketplace was renamed as Google Play Store and it appears which updating many Apps. Error 941 is seen in all the devices like Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, Micromax, Nokia, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi etc.
Like all the Error Solutions we have posted earlier this can also be solved easily which mainly occurs due to Cache in your Android device.
Steps to Solve/Fix Error Code 941 appearing in Play Store while Updating Apps:
- Take your Android device in which the Error is appearing and Open Settings
- Click on Apps or Manage Applications and then Open “All” tab
- 3. Scroll Down to “Download Manager” and open it then click on “Force Stop”, “Clear Cache” and “Clear Data”
- Go back to the Apps List
- Now scroll through all the Apps and Click on “Play Store”
- You will find many options from which you have to click on “Force Stop”, “Clear Cache” and “Clear Data”
- After you have closed the setting try Updating now your problem must be solved.
- If you are still getting the same Error try this as a last resort
- Go to the Apps list Search and Open Play Store App and this time click on “Uninstall Play Updates”
- Try installing the Updates again from the same location and your error will have disappeared.
Method 2: Clear Cache and Clear Data in Google Play Services:
- Go to Settings and then tap on “Apps and Notifications” or “Apps” in some smartphones
- Tap on See All Apps or tap on the All tab on certain smartphones
- Scroll through the list of apps and tap on “Google Play Store”
- Here tap on “Clear Data”
- Now tap on “Clear Cache” and then tap on “OK” to complete the step
Now you can update all your apps without any errors and if you do get the same error anytime in the future follow the same steps to solve it.

I’ve tried all these steps on my new Nexus 5 running stock KitKat 4.4.2. The only app that has ever been affected by this, Pocket, is still generating download error 941. Any tips on what else can be tried?
Uninstall the App and follow the above steps and then Install the App it must work. Do let us know if it worked for you
I can’t do that because the app isn’t installed. That’s the problem. It won’t even download due to the error, I get it when I try to download it. It can’t install if it won’t download.
Unstall the app to update!
The only extra thing done was disable Google play store then enable it then uninstalled updates for Google play services then waited till it told me to update it Google play services then installed the exchange server update that had error 941.
I had the same issue as Sarah – the app that is causing the error isn’t installed – or at least, it’s not visible on my list of applications on my phone. However, when I log in to Google Play ONLINE, the app is listed as being installed (the app is Google Play Services, which in inadvertently deleted a few days ago). I tried to push the app to my phone through the website, and got the 941 error. I’ve cleared data and cache from Google Play Store, and various other locations I’ve seen listed online. But when I go to reinstall Google Play Services I get the same error.
Sometimes there is an error in the app, so waiting for a new update of the App by the developer and then installing might work
INSTALL AIRDROID AND GET THE APK FOR THE MENTIONED APP FROM SOME THIRD PARTY SOURCES, OR YOU CAN USE A CHROME EXTENSION. THEN INSTALL THE APP MANUALLY THROUGH AIRDROID OR LOAD IT INTO AN SD CARD. ITS BETTER TO USE THE CHROME EXTENSION TO GRAB THE APK AS THIRD PARTY APKS MAY HAVE MALWARE INSTALLED.
Tard use Android browser
@phish getting APK is a good alternative for some apps but doing that for each and every app is a very long process and updating it is even more work so better to solve the error and enjoy the App store and get some apps through APK method.
How do i fix the 941 error?
After working with both Google and Pocket, I was able to resolve it in a way that surprised both companies… I installed the app remotely via the Google Play website for kicks and amazingly, it worked!
I was having this error too – on several occasions when trying to install Google Sheets. Having read your experiences, I tried one more time and, without doing anything differently, it just worked. I think the essential thing must be too hold your breath while downloading – that’s all I did!!
Glad that it helped Andrew, and guess I should add holding your breath while downloading in the tutorial too :p (haha just kidding)
Thank You

I have done everything you told me but it still didn’t work. If I hit the install button it gives a message: Error: install on USB storage or SD card failed.
Can you please help i am trying already for 2 days. ..
Thanks!
Herman can i know in which device you are facing this problem, and if you are not able to solve this error and getting the Error: install on USB or SD card failed once check that you have sufficient storage space left in your internal and external memory.
it works on my android .. thnx
thank you. it solved my problem
Didn’t work both of the them
Which Android device are you using Jack and did you close the Play Store application before clearing cache and Data ?
Try to Force Stop the application as you can see in the App page image aboce and then clear cache and Data, if you are facing the Error even after doing this you have to change your Gmail account from Play Store.- http://techknowzone.com/how-to-remove-or-change-google-account-in-android-devices-without-factory-reset/

To anyone who’s reading, I just got a Note 5 and I found a solution that I haven’t seen posted anywhere. The 941 problem happens (I think) because of syncing your Google accounts from a previous phone. The solution is to go into Settings > Accounts and delete all your Google accounts. Then use the solutions seen in this page to clear cache/data for Google Play services and Download Manager. After that, restart your phone. Then add the Google accounts (that you deleted) again. Google Play Services should update just fine after that.
Tnx..work like a charm
Nope not working I found checking to see if your Wi-Fi turned off worked . 🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈💖💖❤❤❤❤💕💕💕💜💜💜💜💜😅😅😅😅😄😄😄😄😄😊
Thanks bro!
It solved my problem…
I understand the error appears in rooted phones generally. Further it appears when Push service is not working on phone. Use Push Notification Tester from Play Store. Best two most successful options are Unroot if rooted and if not rooted reinstall the mobile Android software/Firmware.
Tnxxx
Worked perfectly, thanks.
I was told to Uninstall the GMAIL APP. UPDATE on my phone and when I tried to Update the GMAIL APP. to the way I had it in the 1st place, that’s when I got the 941 ERROR CODE.
Also, lately when I try to fix my Settings for my Android Smartphone, I get a Error saying that the Settings has STOPPED. This happened 3 times in a row, when I was trying to get the TALK BACK FEATURE TO WORK.
I used to hear my phone telling me out loud who my TEXT MESSAGE was from, and when I would receive a phone call, my phone would say out loud who is calling me.
I can’t seem to be able to get the TALK BACK FEATURE TO WORK anymore.
Could someone PLEASE RESPOND TO MY MESSAGE AND LET ME KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON MY LGE H-631 Smartphone, or my phone’s called LG G STYLO SMARTPHONE????
This did not work for me, and im tired of reading and reading and reading and getting nowhere by following steps that dont work,.
I just got the new pixel phone by Google. I have tried every single suggestion on here, but I still get the error code 941. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
Any App in particular which you are facing this error for or for every App ??
I worked. Thank you so much
