WhatsApp has added a new feature to its arsenal of useful features in the Instant messaging App which allows users to “Track their contacts in real time”. Earlier WhatsApp let us share the location to any user which we wanted to but now this feature which is Live Location Tracking has been seen in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.16.399) and for iOS (version 18.104.22.168).
If you are worried if every contact in your friends list will be able to view your location in real-time, that is not the case as this feature is available in Group chats and the user need to enable to option of Live Location Tracking which is available for a limited period of time – 1 min, 2 mins or 5 mins. This helps in keeping our privacy as this feature will not be activated automatically but needs to be activated by the user.
