Xiaomi is the king in the budget smartphone segment, not just because they launch feature rich devices at affordable prices but as they keep adding useful features in the UI. One such feature is “Hidden Apps” which will hide the apps and move apps to a hidden folder and remove their Home screen shortcuts. Earlier you needed to install an App to hide Apps but now with the native feature you can Hide apps without installing any external applications.
The latest feature was updated in the latest MIUI 10 update which is available to devices like – Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 7, Redmi 8, Redmi 6, Redmi Y3, MI Mix, Mi Mix 2, Mi 4, Mi 5, Mi 5s etc.
How to Hide Apps in Xiaomi smartphones running MIUI 10:
Step 1: Tap on Settings icon and scroll through the options and then tap on the option “App Lock”
Note: You need to set up App lock feature before you can use the Hide Apps feature on MIUI 10. It is better to use a different pattern or password.
Step 2: After settings up App lock, tap the settings icon on the top right corner of the screen
Step 3: Now under Hidden Apps option, you need to activate the feature by turning on the Toggle switch to the right of the option. You will be shown the tutorial of how to use Hidden apps.
Step 4: Now you need to tap on the Manage Hidden Apps option to see the Apps list and you can Select which apps to hide.
Step 5: Scroll through the Apps and tap on the toggle switch to the right of the app to turn on Hide apps option.
This is the easiest way to Hide apps in Xiaomi devices running MIUI 10 OS. One problem is that this feature will not be functional while using other Launchers or UI. So make sure that you do not install other Launchers.
