This can be due to many issues like the problem with your Android smartphone or an Error in Google Play Store App.
There are many solutions to the “Server Error – Retry” starting from the simplest of the solutions like closing the App and starting it again to some difficult ones which will be explained in detail below. Follow each step one after the other to check if any solution works.

Change Date and Time settings if they are different

Remove Google Account and Reconfigure it
Method 1 – Close Google Play Store App and Relaunch it:
Once you start seeing the “Server Error Retry” on launching the Play Store App, one of the simplest solutions is to Close the Application and relaunch it. This solution has worked in many instances and it is best to try this before you go for other solutions.
Method 2 – Clear Cache and Data on Google Play Store & Google Play Services:
Go to Settings -> Click on Application Manager or Apps -> Open “All” apps
You will be having a List of Apps on the right side from that find Google Play store App
You should click on the Clear Cache button and Clear Data button and you are done.

Method 3: Clear Cache and Data on Google Services Framework App:
You need to follow the same steps as mentioned in the Google Play Store method.
Go to Settings, Now tap on Apps or Applications manager
Go to All Apps or Installed App
After going to the list of apps scroll and locate Google Service Framework
In the page click on both Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons one after the other
Method 4: Change Date and Time settings if they are different:
There are many instances seen in earlier or other errors relating to Play Store that the time settings have changed depending on the time Zone. This Error is seen in Android devices which are being used in different time Zone for example (a phone bought in USA or Dubai being used in India).
Go to Settings
Tap on Date & Time option
Click on Automatic Date & Time option in the settings list
You need to turn it On / Off if the time zone is properly set to your zone
Now you can manually set the Date & Time
Check by launching the Google Play Store app to check if the Error is popping up again
Method 5: Restart your Android smartphone
Restarting your Android device helps in most cases as all the settings are refreshed once the device restarts. To Restart any Android device – Press and Hold the Power button -> you will be getting the option to Restart the device or Turn it Off -> tap on Restart.
Method 6: Remove Google Account and Reconfigure it
One solution to this problem is to remove the Google Acocunt which was synced from your Android device and to Add it once again. To do so follow the steps mentioned below
Go to the Settings
Click on ‘Accounts‘ Button
Select your Google Account there
Click on ‘Remove Account.’
It will Remove your Google Account
Reconfigure your Google Account again
Once done, try launching Play Store once again and check if the Error is seen again. The last resort if even this method does not work is to Reset your smartphone.
