How to Fix or Solve Activation Error 0xc004c003 in Windows 10 PC or Laptop

Microsoft has been actively promoting Windows 10 and giving free Upgrades to Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users if you are one of the users who has upgraded to Windows 10 recently you might be facing the Error code 0xC004C003 which is being encountered during activation of the Windows 10 OS.

This activation Error has not been encountered by users who have upgraded from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 OS but seen in users who have installed Windows 10 Fresh. The Error is seen during activation of Windows 10 OS after installation which might be seen when there is some problem with Installation. It might be due to the servers being overloaded with the huge number of installation happening.

Let us look at the two solutions which have been helpful in fixing the Activation Error 0xC004C003 while installing Windows 10 OS in your Laptop or PC.

Solution 1: Reset PC or Laptop in Recovery Mode

By Resetting your PC in Recovery Mode, the Window 10 OS will be Reset and this process might fix any Errors which might have taken place while installation and fix the Error 0xC004C003 earlier. Follow the steps below to Reset your PC.

Note: Make sure to back up all the data and files in the Drive in which Windows 10 has been installed as all the data might be lost during this process.

From your Windows 10 Home screen, click on Windows Start Button

Now go to Settings by clicking on the settings option in the list

Click on Recovery and you will see two options and Reset this PC is the one to be selected

Solution 2: Upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 or 8.1 OS

As we have mentioned earlier, for users who have upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 the users are not facing any Activation Error 0xC004C003. This is a pretty laborious process and might take a whole day of your time but if you cannot wait for the error to resolve itself do try this solution to completely fix this error.

How to upgrade to Windows 10 from Window 8 to fix activation error

  • Install any Original Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 OS in your Laptop or PC through CD/DVD or by purchasing the version online which comes with a Product Key
  • You need to follow all the steps to install the Windows 8.1 or 7 OS version
  • After complete installation, you will be seeing the option to upgrade to Windows 10 in the right side bottom of the screen, by clicking on the Windows icon the Windows 10 Download and installation option will  be initiated.
  • Follow the steps and installation of Windows 10 OS will be completed and you will permanently get rid of Windows 10 activation Error 0xC004C003.
