Social networking websites like Twitter and Facebook come with in-app browsers to open any links which have been shared on the sites by users. If you are someone like me who hates the in-app browsers and want the links to open in an external browser of your choice like – Google Chrome, Opera Mini, Mozilla Firefox etc you can use the following steps to Disable links from opening in in-app browser and open in external browser.
How to Disable In-App browser in Facebook for Android:
By default Facebook opens any link you click in the Facebook App to its In-App browser and here is the way to disable the In-App browser in Facebook App for Android smartphones.
Step 1: Launch the Facebook App in your Android device.
Step 2: Now tap on the three lines icon on the top of the screen
Step 3: Tap on Settings & Privacy option > Now tap on Settings and then tap on Media and Contacts
Step 4: Here you can see the option – Links open externally is activated, tap on the blue option to turn it Off
You are done, now all your links will open in external browser of your choice, you will be getting the option to choose which browser you want to open the links in.
How to Disable In-App browser in Twitter for Android:
If you wish to open any link you click on Twitter by disabling in-app browser you can open the link in any eternal browser of your choice.
Step 1: Open and launch the Twitter app for Android
Step 2: Now tap on your Profile picture
Step 3: Tap on the option Settings and Privacy and the tap on Display and Sound
Step 4: Now under Web Browser you need to deselect the option – Use in-app browser to turn it off
That is it, you will now be opening all the links clicked in Twitter to your External browser and not the in-app twitter browser.
