How to Backup Contacts on your Android device to your Google Account

Google lets you Backup Contacts on your Android device to your Google Account which makes it easier to Transfer the Contacts to a new device. When you Sign in using your Google Account on any new phone, it automatically synchronizes all the contacts and other settings from your old device to your new device. This also lets you revive contacts from any lost smartphone. All this is possible only when you have backed up all your contacts on your Android device to your Google account.

How to Backup Contacts on your Android device to your Google Account:

You need to Login or Sign in to your Google Account on your Android device from which you want to back up the contacts.

Step 1: Go to Settings > now tap on Accounts option, here you will be asked to log in if you are not already logged in. Tap on Google.

Step 2: Now select the Gmail account which you want to sync your Contacts to

Step 3: From the Sync Settings, scroll down and turn On the Sync Contacts option if it is disabled. This will Sync all the contacts in your device to your Gmail account.

Step 4: Go back to the Home screen and launch Play Store and Install the Google Contacts App

Step 5: This App lets you access your contacts from any device, by using this App you can access contacts synced to any Gmail account from your smartphone.

Step 6: To access Synced Contacts from your Laptop or PC you need to visit – https://contacts.google.com/ .

You can access the website or you can go to the Google Contacts Application to cross check whether all your Contacts have been Synced or not. If you keep the Sync Contacts Option turned On, any new contact which you might save on your Android device will be Synced to your Google Account automatically.
