How to Get and Use Face Unlock feature in Honor 9 Lite and Honor View 10

Huawei’s Honor brand has started rolling out their latest software update with Face Unlock feature to their mid range and top end smartphone, the Honor 9 Lite and Honor View 10 which brings the most anticipated Face Unlock Feature to devices in India as earlier promised. Honor had rolled out this feature to Honor 7X smartphones in China and is also expected to roll out the feature to Indian users as well with the Android Oreo update.

As you all know Face Unlock features lets you Unlock your Phone just by looking at it and it does not require any pass code or Fingerprint. While the iPhone X Face Unlock requires you to first click on the power button to turn on the display but in case of Honor 7X and 9 Lite all you need to do is lift the phone and it starts to recognize your face.

Steps to Activate and Use Face Unlock in Honor 9 Lite and Honor View 10:

Note: Make sure that, Honor 9 Lite or View 10 is updated with the latest Software. You have enrolled your Face  in the phones data.

Step 1: Tap on Settings – the Gear Icon from the App List

Step 2: Now scroll through the settings options and tap on Security

Step 3: Tap on the Face Unlock option

Step 4: Here you will be seeing the options – Direct Unlock and Slide to Unlock.

Step 5: Tap on Direct Unlock if you want the device to direct activate face unlock once you lift the device, you can activate Slide to Unlock which requires you to slide unlock the device after you have unlocked the device using  Face Unlock

You are done, you can now check by locking your device and lifting the device up to your face and check if it unlocks. Face Unlock in Honor View 10 is working pretty good, after testing it for a week or so I could unlock using Face Recognition both indoors and outdoors without a problem, it was fast even while wearing a hat and even sun glasses it did not have any problem in recognizing your face.
