Coolpad Cool 1 vs Moto G4 Plus Comaparison and Differences

 

Coolpad Cool 1 or Cool 1 Dual has been launched In India almost 5 months after its official launch and with the specifications which are at offer, it is a great contender for the Budget range segment. What makes it stand out from the competition is the presence of a Dual rear camera set up which is one of its kind in this price range. The other device which comes in competition to Coolpad Cool 1 is the Moto G4 Plus with a great camera and specifications as well.

Both the devices are well placed in terms of specifications, let us look at each aspect of both devices and check out how they fare against one another to decide on which device will be the best one for you based on your requirements.

Display: Both the devices sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display with resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and both the devices have 401 ppi pixel density while the Moto G4 Plus comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The only difference is the inclusion of Corning Gorilla protection and in the design front the Cool 1 gives a bezel less appearance thanks to the black lines on either side while the Moto G4 plus has thick bezels on either side.

Processor, RAM and Storage:

The Coolpad Cool 1 sports a higher Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC coupled with Adreno 510 GPU coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The Moto G4 Plus on the other hand comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor coupled with Adreno 405  GPU and is available two variants based on RAM and Storage – 2GB / 16GB and 3GB / 32GB.  The Moto G4 Plus has the option to further expand the storage using microSD card which is absent in the Coolpad Cool 1.

Camera:

The Coolpad Cool 1 surely excels in this aspect at least on paper thanks to the Dual rear camera set up with two 13MP cameras with f/2.0 aperture along with PDAF and dual LED flash. The rear camera is capable of recording video footage at 1080p @30fps. The front is an 8MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture. In comparison the Moto G4 Plus sports a 16MP rear camera with with LED flash and PDAF along with laser autofocus and dual LED flash. It sports a 5MP front facing camera and f/2.2 aperture with auto-HDR as well.  We have to test out the Cool 1 camera to see how well it fares and is it as good as it is on paper to compete with the amazing camera in the Moto G4 Plus.

Battery:

The Cool 1 sports a bigger 4060 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 while the Moto G4 Plus sports a 3000mAh battery which also sports Quick charge 2.0. And with the much higher battery capacity the CoolPad Cool 1 gives more battery life compared to the other.

Pricing:

The Coolpad Cool 1 is the affordable one at Rs. 13,999 available exclusively on Amazon India with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. The Moto G4 Plus is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 2GB / 16GB storage variant whitle the 3GB / 32GB variant is priced at Rs. 14,499 also available on Amazon India.

Conclusion:

From all aspects the Cool 1 appears to be the better deal with a better camera, better processor and Higher RAM available at lower price. While the Moto G4 shines in the OS department with the 4GB RAM at hand the Cool 1 is right up there in terms of performance thanks to the SD 652 which is a processor seen in mid-range devices and not in budget segment smartphones.
