Asus has now come up with yet another smartphone in the budget pricing category which is being named as Asus Zenfone C which got launched in Taiwan first. The device which is released today is being priced at $95.
The Zenfone series was earlier named based on numbers with the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 but now Asus has named this variant as Zenfone C which is the larger variant of the Zenfone 4. Recently a similar device was launched in this category by Samsung named as Samsung J1.
The Asus Zenfone C comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display (480×854 pixels resolution), and it’s a TFT LED backlit screen. The device runs on Android KitKat 4.4 with Asus ZenUI skin over it. This gives similar to the one seen in Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 4. It comes with some features and apps like Do it Later, AirLink, Omlet Chat, What’s next, Weather and Calendar along with Asus Cloud which comes with 5GB of cloud storage available for use.
The device is powered by Intel CloverTrail processor with quad-thread Hyper-Threading Technology having 1.2 GHz clocking speed. It is further supported by 1GB of RAM support and has 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded with MicroSD card support. Coming to the Camera aspect it comes with 5MP rear or primary camera and a VGA front facing camera which I must say is just put in there for the heck of it.
The device is powered by a 2100 mAh battery which is decent enough. Other features which are worth mentioning are the presence of a speaker grill which is present on the back of the device. Basic Connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, support for GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS are present.
The Zenfone C is being launched in India at a price of Rs. 5,999 through Flipkart. The model is named as Zenfone C and the models number is C451CG and it will be available for purchase in Offline stores as well from 18th February in Asus stores only.
