Google has started rolling out the Android Nougat 7.1.1 developers preview 2 update for other devices like the Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9 and Pixel C devices. The update comes to these smartphones after the Google Pixel and Pixel XL users have received this update from some time now. The devices eligible for Android 7.1.1 Nougat Developers Preview 2 update are:

  • LG’s Nexus 5X
  • Huawei’s Nexus 6P
  • HTC’s Nexus 9
  • Google-made Pixel C tablet

From the time Google has launched Android 7.0 Nougat which was earlier this year in August, there are many high-end devices from various smartphone manufacturers to come with the OS installed. This Android 7.1.1 Nougat developers preview update will be available to users via an OTA or Over-the-air update over the coming week.

Dave Bruke, Google vice president of engineering, wrote in a blog post, “Android 7.1.1 includes the developer features already available on Pixel and Pixel XL devices and adds optimizations and bug fixes on top of the base Android 7.1 platform.” There are many developers features which are being included in the update and you can know the full list of Android 7.1.1 Developers preview features.

We are not expecting this update to be as eventful as the previous 7.1 update was with many new features included, but this update is said to bring in about bug fixes, system optimizations and Google suite for apps features. If you are one the users enrolled in Android beta program, you will be receiving the Developer Preview 2 as an OTA update and added that you are having one of the above mentioned devices.
